Fingerprint Gestures

There is a regular fingerprint sensor on the back of the Galaxy A20. You can use it not only to lock / unlock your phone, but also to quickly expand the notification bar. However, the feature is disabled by default.

Activate it via Settings --> Advanced features --> Motion and gestures --> Finger sensor gestures.

Floating Shutter Button

You can move the shutter button as desired in the Galaxy A20 camera app and place it in a more convenient location when taking selfies. Simply drag and place the shutter button anywhere on the viewfinder.

Disable it by simply drag it back on top of the primary shutter button

Save Photos/Videos in HEIF/HEVC Format

With an internal storage capacity of only 32GB, you really cant be bothered to take photos and record videos on the Galaxy A20. To make the most of this space, you can save pictures in HEIF format and record videos in HEVC format on phones. This results in significant space savings. Note, however, that older phones and computers do not support HEIF / HEVC media.

Night Mode

One of my favorite features in One UI is the cool night mode. It is a system-wide dark theme well implemented by Samsung. It is available on the Galaxy A20, although it looks much better on the latter since it comes with an AMOLED display. Enabling night mode on the Galaxy A20 also extends battery life as AMOLED screens use less power when displaying black content. For devices with AMOLED screen, dark mode can help save battery power. Its also incredibly easy on the eyes.

Enable Night mode from Settings --> Display.

New System Font

Another useful customization feature that is part of the Galaxy A20s user interface is the ability to change system fonts. While Samsung preloads many of the same system fonts, you can also download additional fonts of your choice from the Samsung Galaxy Store.

Activate it via Settings --> Display --> Font size and style.

Full-screen Navigation Gestures

Galaxy A20 includes a navigation bar by default. However, you can switch to implement Samsungs own full screen gestures.

Activate it via Settings --> Display --> Navigation bar and enable the Full screen gestures option.

Gestures

There are some useful motion gestures on the Galaxy A20. Some of them are enabled by default while others are disabled.

Activate it via Settings --> Advanced features --> Motion and gestures.

Digital Wellbeing

Impressively, Samsung has also built a digital health feature in the Galaxy A20. This feature was first released by Google as part of Android 9.0 Pie. Samsung has integrated it well into One UI and made it available on all devices. Digital Wellbeing provides detailed information about time spent in apps, number of notifications received per day and more. This feature can also be used to reduce dependence on smartphones or PUBGs by limiting the amount of time they spend on each app on a daily basis.

Activate it via Settings --> Digital Wellbeing.

Detailed Lock Screen Notifications

By default, Galaxy A20 only shows the notification icon on the lock screen. This can be stressful and annoying for many users. Thankfully, you can also see detailed notifications on your lock screen.

Activate it via Settings --> Lock screen --> Notifications. From here, change the View style to Detailed.

Lock Screen Stories

I really dont like the Galaxy A20 lock screen history feature which changes the lock screen wallpaper every time you unlock your phone.

Activate it via Settings ? Lock Screen ? Lock Screen Stories.

Dolby Atmos

The Galaxy A series includes a number of features that can be found in Samsungs flagship devices. This includes Dolby Atmos support. Although this doesnt make much difference to the sound quality, audiophiles will still appreciate this playback.

Activate it via Settings ? Sounds and Vibration ? Sound quality and effects.

Adapt Sound

The Galaxy A20 is also equipped with Adapt Sound, which is usually found on Samsungs flagships. As the name suggests, this feature allows you to match your phones audio output with your headphones to match your hearing. This is a great feature if you have decent headphones and are a fan of music.

Activate it via Settings ? Sound ? Adapt Sound.
